Batman - Arkham Asylum

Batman - Arkham Asylum

Cheat Codes:

Submitted by: David K.

Level Select:
-------------
Note: Alter game files at your own risk and ALWAYS make backups!
You can select where to start the game, by opening the "BmGame.ini" file in the game folder
(Documents\Eidos\Batman Arkham Asylum\BmGame\Config) folder and changing the following line:

DebugLevelStarts=(Name="FE_NewGame", LevelNames="start batentry?Area=Max,Max_C0,Max_C0_Audio,
Max_C0_CLigh ts,Max_C0_FX,Max_C0_Lights,Max_C0_Static,Max_A1,Ma x_A1_Audio,Max_A1_CH1,
Max_A1_CLights,Max_A1_Fx,Max _A1_Lights,Max_A1_Static,Max_IntroParty,Max_IntroA udio?
Flags=Chapter1_Start,gamestart,Batman_Abiliti esScreenDisabled,Batman_EnvAnalysisDisabled,
Batman _RiddlesDisabled,Batman_RiddlerChallengesDisabled? Start=BeginGame?
Movie=101_Batmobile_Intro?StreamMo vie")

This controls the game behavior, once you selct "new game".

Mark the line with a semicolon ( ; ), so the game will skip it during loading and add the
following line directly underneath it:

DebugLevelStarts=(Name="FE_NewGame",
LevelNames="start batentry?Area=Overworld,Overworld_A1,Overworld_A1_Audio,
Overworld_A1_CLights,Overworld_A1_FX,Overworld_A1_Lights,Overworld_A1_Static,
Overworld_A1_Tunnel")

Using the above method you will only get an empty area. If you want to jump into the action,
you have to use flags at the end of the line.

-=Example=-
DebugLevelStarts=(Name="FE_NewGame", LevelNames="start batentry?Area=Overworld,Overworld_A1,
Overworld_A1_Audio,Overworld_A1_CLights,Overworld_A1_FX,Overworld_A1_Lights,
Overworld_A1_Static,Overworld_A1_Tunnel?Flags=Chapter2_Start,Unlocked_Health1,Unlocked_Health2,
Unlocked_Health3,Unlocked_Health4")

(Note that the ?Flags= are listed after the various filenames of the selected level, but before
the closing quotation marks.)

-=Here are some working flags=-

Armored Batsuit:
----------------
Successfully complete the game to unlock the Armored Batsuit, which can only be
used in Challenge mode.

How To Beat Bane:
-----------------
Banes primary attack is just like the deformed Joker henchman, he tries to trample
you. When Bane starts to run toward you, throw a Batarang at his head then dive
out of the way. By doing this, Bane runs into the wall and is momentarily stunned.
While he is stunned, run up to him and throw some punches at him. Then, Batman
jumps on top of Bane and rips one of hoses pumping with Venom. If your Batarang
misses Bane, he still runs into the wall and looks stunned, but don't fall for it,
he'll cover his face and try smacking you. When he turns around, run away from the
monster. If ya don't run, Bane will screw you up. After you rip the first hose off,
some goons jump from the railings and try to give Bane a hand. Focus on these
prisoners but keep an eye on Bane. Bane will throw chunks of wall at you.
Just keep repeating this, and Bane will fall.

Killing Poison Ivy's plants:
----------------------------
To kill Poison Ivy's big fat plants that sit on the ground, get near them to pull
out the heart by dropping from above. Find a high point such as a tower or building
then drop down directly beside it. The plant will not have time to produce the
irritating orbs that can hurt you before you rip its heart out.

Solve The Spirit of Arkham's Mystery" chronicle:
------------------------------------------------
If you are skilled enough to find all of The Riddler's secrets maps, or if you can
actually find all the Chronicle of Arkham pieces hidden throughout the game without
them, there will be one more blank chronicle remaining to decipher. To unlock it,
go all the way back to where you found Clayface behind the wall in the penitentiary.
Go up the center stairs where you left Warden Sharp a long time ago, and there will
be some scribbling on the floor. Use your Environmental Analysis on it and the last
chronicle will unlock.

Frank Boles information:
------------------------
There is an advertisement in the Medical Facility for the hospital's website
"www.ArkhamCare.com". You can visit this URL in a web browser and use the employee
login section. Enter the guard login number of "125845712". You will login as Frank
Boles and can read information about him.

Solving The Riddler's "?"s:
---------------------------
If you are stumped by The Riddler's more "taxing" riddles such as "What's right in
front of you but still hidden from view?", you will usually be able to use Detective
mode to find a piece of a question mark without a dot (or the dot without the
question mark). The easiest way to see an example of this is to go to the second
balcony outside of the penitentiary. Look toward the medical facility and enable
Detective mode. You will see a "?" with no dot under it on the floor. Grapple to
the balcony above and on the center pole of the railing is the "?"'s dot.
Align them onscreen and use Environmental Analysis. This solves the "Do you see
what I see? No? Then maybe I am in a stronger position." riddle. There are a only
a few of these, but remember you must find both parts of the "?" and align them
to solve the riddle.

Scarecrow actor references:
---------------------------
Listen to the first Scarecrow interview. You will hear him talking and mention a
Dr. Murphy, and a Dr. Combs will be mentioned by a security guard. Cillian Murphy
played Scarecrow in the newer movies and Jeffrey Combs voiced Scarecrow on the
later episodes of Batman: The Animated Series.

Easy combo total:
-----------------
Fight a Titan henchman along with a group of normal henchmen. Stun the Titan, then
jump on his back and use him to hit the normal henchman to build your combo total.

Easy Mano-a-mano achievement or trophy:
---------------------------------------
This strategy requires the Proximity Detonation Explosive Gel Upgrade. In Challenge
mode, select Rumble In The Jungle. Fight through the first three rounds, conserving
as much health as possible. In round 4 do not engage the Titan until everyone else
in the room (other Arkham inmates) has been put down permanently. Do not use a Batarang
-- if you hit the Titan with it at all it voids the achievement or trophy. Immediately
switch to your Explosive Gel and wait for the Titan to charge at you. Watch out because
there is always a chance he will throw a dead body at you first. Dodge the charge, then
set one of your own (meaning spray the floor with Explosive Gel; it is best to do it
immediately after he rushes at you and make sure you let Batman completely spray the
gel). Stand over the area you sprayed if possible. When the Titan charges again, dodge
and you should hear a loud bang. The explosion does not take much health off the beast
at all, but it does not matter. After he takes one big blind haymaker punch move in,
just keep hammering him with attacks. You can build up a good twelve to fifteen hit
combo on him before Batman delivers the knockout blow earning, you the achievement
or trophy.

Ras Al Ghul's resurrection:
---------------------------
You can find Ras' corpse in Dr. Young's office. Later in the game if you re-visit
the office, Ras Al Ghul's body bag has been unzipped and his body is missing, showing
that he once again resurrected and escaped.

BatMan RIP reference:
---------------------
During the final confrontation with Scarecrow, it shows Batman's gravestone, which
is the same design as the current comic book series BatMan RIP.

KnightFall reference:
---------------------
If you lose to Bane there is a cinematic of him snapping Batman's back over his knee.
This is reference to KnightFall book 1, where Bane breaks Batman's spine.

The Missing Cadaver:
--------------------
After solving the Ra's Al Ghul riddle in Dr. Young's Office (scan the toe tag of the
cadaver hanging out of the morgue wall), return much later (after finishing the game,
for instance) and the cadaver will be missing... Most curious!

Paging Dr. Clooney:
-------------------
After you rescue Cash and an orderly from the Joker's laughing gas, stand in the main
room looking at the smaller room where they were trapped. A ticker scrolls a garbled
message: "Dr. Clooney report to Gynecology." No doubt a nod to ladykiller and former
Batman, George Clooney.

Freeflow Perfection Achievement and Trophy:
-------------------------------------------
Before attempting this Achievement Trophy you should have Batman fully upgraded with
all combo-based upgrades etc. You can do this fairly easily in the later rounds of
the first Challenge, Intensive Treatment. You'll need to perform the following moves
in a single combo (don't get hit, or blocked or let the combo counter run out) to get
the Achievement or Trophy.
NOTE: You can Evade as many times as you want to keep your combo going!

* Quick Batarang (may NOT be necessary)
* Quick Batclaw (may NOT be necessary)
* Punch
* Stun
* Evade
* Counter
* Throw
* Instant Takedown
* Ground Takedown

Begin with the Batclaw and follow it with a Batarang -- these may not be necessary but
you may as well throw them in since they won't hinder you at all. After using the first
 few moves listed after those, plus a couple of Punches to get your combo meter above
5x, you can perform a Throw. Don't let him hit anyone else or you may leave yourself
without any opponents to continue the combo.

Punch a bit more and Evade as needed, then use the Instant Takedown when its available.
Before using a Ground Takedown to complete this combo, use some Batarangs to stun anyone
else nearby -- if it's all clear, go for the Ground Takedown to complete the "perfect"
combo!

Solve The Spirit of Arkham's Mystery chronicle:
-----------------------------------------------
If you are skilled enough to find all of The Riddler's secrets maps, or if you can
actually find all the Chronicle of Arkham pieces hidden throughout the game without
them, there will be one more blank chronicle remaining to decipher. To unlock it, go
all the way back to where you found Clayface behind the wall in the penitentiary. Go
up the center stairs where you left Warden Sharp a long time ago, and there will be
some scribbling on the floor. Use your Environmental Analysis on it and the last
chronicle will unlock.

After Poison Ivy destroys the batcave there are three hills after crossing which you
land on main land i.e at Arkham West.you will get a trophy after you land on first hill.
Then you head for the second one.There are two small holes through which you can see
cliffs. Through one you see the main land which is straight in front of you after you
land on the second one. Before doing that just look for once.Grapple over there and
come to a little outside. you will see a cliff which has no den or any place to land.
but dont worry,just glide onto that place and you will find a trophy which will unlock
RECORD BREAKER in CHALLENGE MODE.

While attacking after two or three simultaneous attacks whenever you attack the next
time press the attack button for a second and then release to unleash a special move
which gives you more two points and does more damage.

Record Breaker stage in Challenge mode:
---------------------------------------
After Poison Ivy destroys the Batcave, cross to the three hills to land on the mainland
at Arkham West. Note: You will unlock a trophy after you land on first hill. Then, go
to the second one. There are two small holes through which you can see cliffs. Through
one, you see the mainland which is directly in front of you after you land on the second
hill. Before doing that, look and grapple over there then go to a small exterior. You
will see a cliff which has no den or any other place to land. Glide onto that location
and you will find a trophy which will unlock Record Breaker in Challenge mode.

Secret Room in the Warden's Office, Reference to Batman: Arkham City:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Warden's Office, head back to the room with the Warden's portrait on the far
wall. Turn left as soon as you enter the doorway and approach the wooden wall. You can
destroy this with Explosive Gel. It may take a bit of trial and error, but one panel
can be blown away. Beyond this is an unmarked room with a blueprint on the wall. It
shows plans for the relocation or expansion of Arkham to Gotham City. This is a nod
to the setting of Batman: Arkham City.
